Here in a [TED](http://ted.com/?ref=katecarruthers.com) talk Susan Blackmore discusses how humanity has spawned a new kind of meme. She argues for the teme, which spreads itself via technology, and invents ways to keep itself alive. This is a very provocative argument and is worth a look.
